1.         Dato’  M. Anad Krishnan LL.B (Hons) (S’pore)

Dato’ Anad Krishnan read Law in the University of Singapore and graduated with a Bachelor of Law (Hons) degree in 1978.  In 1979 after completing his pupillage with Tan Sri Dato’ James Foong, he was called to the Malaysian Bar. Thereafter he joined Messrs James Foong& Company as a Legal Assistant and was in charge of litigation.  In 1981, he was made a Partner of James Foong& Company and thereafter the name of the firm was changed to Messrs James Foong & Anad.
 
In the course of his practice, Dato’ Anad Krishnan has acquired expertise and knowledge in handling litigation, conveyancing, banking and corporate work and international consultancy and representation.
 
In respect of litigation work, Dato’ Anad Krishnan has handled a wide variety of matters, including complicated commercial disputes and has appeared not only in the High Courts but also the Superior Courts in Malaysia such as the Court of Appeal, Federal Court and Supreme Court.  He also had the occasion of appearing before the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council.  Currently, his litigation practice is solely limited to attending to various complicated disputes in the High Court and the Appellate Courts.
 
In respect of banking, corporate and conveyancing work, Dato’ Anad Krishnan has to date, been handling the firm's financial and corporate clients and is therefore, well versed in all matters pertaining thereto.  Based on his expertise, he was invited by M/s Bumiputra-Commerce Bank Berhad and M/s Khazanah Nasional Berhad to appear  as their expert witness in a trial in Toronto, Canada, involving a claim for a very substantial sum.   He has also acquired first hand corporate experience having been an independent director in public listed companies.
 
Dato’ Anad Krishnan has been doing significant corporate work in the course of his practice and was the Solicitor involved in the listing exercise of Bina Puri Holdings Berhad in the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange and the merger of MCIS Insurance Berhad and Zurich Insurance (Malaysia) Berhad.
 
In the course of his practice, Dato’ Anad Krishnan has acted for M/s Tenaga Nasional Berhad (“TNB”) when TNB acquired a coal mine in Kalimantan.  Dato’ Anad Krishnan has also represented a number of other investors and has advised them with regards to the legal structure and the acquisition of coal mines in Indonesia.
           
Dato’ Anad Krishnan is very knowledgeable about the developments in the Iskandar region in Johor Bahru.  He has acted and continues to act for a number of developers who are currently developing various types of shops, offices and apartments in Johor Bahru.
 
 
 
2.         Mr Anpalagar Suppiah (Mr Mohan) LL.B (Hons) Lond, Bar At Law

Anpalagar read law as an external student of University of London and graduated with honours in 1988.  Thereafter, he continued his barrister course in the Middle Temple, London and was called to the English Bar in 1989.
 
On completing his barrister course, Anpalagar returned to Malaysia and read in the Chambers of M/s Zain& Co., where he received instructions in various fields of the Law.  On completing his chambers, Anpalagar was called to the Malaysian Bar in June 1990.
 
Anpalagar then joined Messrs Yusuff Lee Pathma and Marbeck as a Legal Assistant and subsequently, he joined Messrs P.G. Lim & Co. till April 1993.  During the tenure of his work, Anpalagar handled mainly litigation matters including insurance recovery claims.  In addition, Anpalagar also handled conveyancing, banking and estate matters.
 
Anpalagar joined the firm of Messrs ANAD & ASSOCIATES as a Legal Assistant in May 1993 and was subsequently made  a partner of the Firm  as of 1st October 2001.
 
At present, Anpalagar is in charge of the insurance department of the Firm and mainly handles running down matters, subrogation claims, public liabilities claims, workman compensation claims, fire and burglary claims and medical malpractice claims.
 
 
 
3.         Cik Wan Nazma Asyikin Binti W. Yusoff LL.B (Hons ) UiTM

Cik Wan Nazma Asyikin Binti W. Yusoff graduated with a Bachelor of Law Degree from University Teknologi Mara in December 2006. Thereafter she read in the chambers of Mr. Anpalagar a/l Suppiah who is a Partner of the Firm. During her period of pupilage, Cik Wan Nazma Asyikin Binti W. Yusoff received her training and guidance in handling litigation matters particularly in banking litigation.
 
She was admitted to the Malaysian Bar on 3rd January 2008 and thereafter was offered a position as a Legal Assistant with the Firm. Her area of practice is civil litigation, which includes debt recovery for hire purchase companies, banks and various types of execution proceedings including but not limited to bankruptcy proceedings and winding up proceedings and other miscellaneous matters.
 
She was appointed as a Partner on 16th August 2010.  She assists Mr Anpalagar in managing the growing portfolio on matters relating to dispute resolution and litigation.
 
 
 

The Lawyers

 
4.         To’ Puan Sunita Zechariah LL.B (Hons) Essex. CLP (Mal)
           
To’ Puan Sunita read law at the University of Essex, England and graduated with a LL.B (Hons) in 1983.  On her return to Malaysia, To’ Puan Sunita attended and completed the Local Bar Course at the University of Malaya in 1985 and obtained her Certificate of Legal Practice.   Thereafter, To’ Puan Sunita read in the chambers of Tan Sri Dato’ James C.Y. Foong of M/s James Foong & Anad.
 
On completing the requisite chambering period where To’ Puan Sunita received training in handling corporate, conveyancing and litigation work, To’ Puan Sunita was called to the Malaysian Bar on the 23rd of August 1986.  Thereafter, To’ Puan Sunita joined M/s James Foong & Anad as a Legal Assistant but for personal reasons, To’ Puan Sunita resigned from the said firm and did not practice law until 1991 when she was engaged as a Consultant by our Firm on a part-time basis until October 1992.  Thereafter, To’ Puan Sunita continues her employment with the Firm as a Legal Assistant.
 
She is now currently in charge of office administration and human resources in the office.
 
 
 
5.         Ms Tan Wan Yean LL.B (Hons) Malaya, LL.M (Malaya)

Wan Yean graduated with a Bachelor of Law Degree from the University of Malaya in 1995.   Thereafter Wan Yean read in the chambers of Mr S.T. Gamany of M/s Daim & Gamany where she received training in litigation work from her master and Mr Sivarasa Rasiah.
 
Wan Yean was called to the Malaysian Bar on 29th March 1996.  Between 1996 and 1999, she was employed as a Legal Assistant in M/s Daim & Gamany and was in charge of litigation.
 
Wan Yean left M/s Daim & Gamany in April 1999 and joined M/s Andrew Lee & Company as a partner until September 1999.  She then joined the Firm as a Legal Assistant in January 2000.
 
In August 2000 Wan Yean graduated with a Master of Law Degree from the University of Malaya and the subjects of her course work include Advanced Company Law, Advanced Administrative Law and Employment Law.
 
In the course of her practice, Wan Yean has acquired expertise and knowledge in handling litigation, conveyancing, banking and corporate work. In respect of litigation work, Wan Yean has handled a wide variety of matters, particularly claims with regards to land law, labour and industrial relations matters, contractual disputes, probate and letters of administration, matrimonial matters and administrative law.
 
In respect of banking, corporate and conveyancing work, Wan Yean has been actively involved in drafting of agreements in relation to acquisition and disposal of  real properties, company shares, company assets and company debts and other commercial agreements which include Joint Venture Agreement, Memorandum of Understanding and Shareholders Agreement.
 
 
 
6.          Ms Navamalar A. Ganesan LL.B (Hons) Lond, CLPe

Navamalar graduated from University of London with LL.B (Hons) in 1992 and completed her Certificate of Legal Practice (Malaysia)  in 1994. She read in the chambers of Messrs S.K.Tay & Co where she received her training in litigation matters particularly in areas of banking.   Navamalar was  called to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 8th February 1995.
 
Navamalar then joined Messrs Siva Ram & Associates as a Legal Assistant and she was under the guidance of Mr Ramdas Tikamdas from 1995 till 2004 where she was exposed to variety of litigatious matters. She was a litigation partner in Messrs Indran Malar from 2004 till 2007.  She then joined the firm of Messrs Jasbeer Nur & Lee and was involved in variety of litigation matters.
 
Navamalar’s primary areas of practice are general commercial and civil litigation. Navamalar has been in active legal practice as a civil and commercial litigator and is experienced in handling banking litigation, bankruptcy and insolvency, foreclosure, hire purchase and leasing, winding up matters and liquidation matters.
 
In the course of her practice, Navamalar has handled a wide variety of matters, particularly claims with regards to contracts, corporate law, construction laws,  employee benefits, family law, medical negligence.  She has acquired the knowledge and expertise in drafting agreements and also regularly advises clients on a wide range of matters including advising on legal solutions in relation to civil and banking matters. She has appeared not only in the High Courts but also the Superior Courts in Malaysia such as the Court of Appeal and  Federal Court.
 
In the course of her practice, she has acted for Agro Bank when Agro Bank sued the Registrar of Titles of Selangor for breach of statutory duties.
She had joined the firm as a Legal Assistant in February 2014 and is currently involved in general litigation as well as banking litigation.
 
 
 
7.         Mr Radha Krishna Subramaniam LL.B (Hons)

Radha Krishna graduated with a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Wolverhampton in 1994.  He then completed his pupillage in the Chambers of Satha & Co where he received training under his master Dato’ Satharuban in civil litigation and criminal matters.  He was called to the Malaysian Bar on 6th August 1998.
 
Thereafter he joined M/s Satha & Co as a Legal Assistant and has been active in legal practice in the area of civil and motor insurance claims as well as criminal litigation.  He is well exposed in running down, divorce and criminal litigation.
 
He joined the firm of  M/s V.P. Nathan & Partners in 2005 as a Legal Assistant handling mainly insurance matters.
 
He joined the Firm in May 2010 as a Legal Assistant and handles mainly insurance claims.
 
 
 
8.         Mr Ramesh Kumar Periannan LL.B (Hons) London, CLP

Ramesh read law under University of London and graduated with honors in August 1994. In 1995 he completed his Certificate of Legal Practice with Honors which is awarded by the Malaysian Legal Profession Qualifying Board.
 
Thereafter he read in the chambers of the Firm’s Managing Partner, Dato’ M. Anad Krishnan. He was admitted to the Malaysian Bar on 23rd November 1996.  He started his own practice until July 1998 and thereafter went into private business until July 1999 when he returned to practice with the Firm and concentrated in litigation.
 
His exposure in litigation among others involved matters pertaining to insurance law, law of tort including negligence, medical malpractice, defamation and assessment of damages. He also handled matters relating to recovery of debt and the related insolvency, bankruptcy and companies winding up.  He also has experiences in agency matters and land acquisition. 
 
In November 2005 Ramesh left the Firm to be engaged as a contracts manager in a power plant engineering company for the Tg. Bin Power Plant in Pontian, Johor until January 2007.
 
Thereafter he returned to the Firm and is currently involved in litigation as well as in conveyancing and drafting.
 
 
 
9.            Mr Visvanathan Somasundaram LL.B (Hons) London, CLP

Visvanathan read law under University of London and graduated with Honors in July 1992. In 1996 he completed his Certificate of Legal Practice with Honors which is awarded by the Malaysian Legal Profession Qualifying Board.
 
He completed his pupillage in the M/s VP Nathan & Co where he received training under Ms Shu Lee King in insurance claims. Visvanathan was called to the Malaysian Bar on 2nd May 1997.
 
Thereafter he joined M/s RK Nathan & Co as a Legal Assistant and has been active in legal practice in the area of motor insurance claims. He is well exposed in running down cases.
 
He joined the firm of M/s Anad Noraini in November 2001 as a Legal Assistant handling mainly insurance matters until March 2007 and thereafter he joined the firm of M/s Kanaga Suresh & Co. in March 2007 as a Legal Assistant and handles mainly insurance claims.
 
He started his own practice under name of M/s SV Nathan from February 2010 until December 2014 doing running down cases and criminal cases.
 
He rejoined the Firm as a Legal Assistant in January 2015 and handles mainly insurance claims.
 
 
10.       Ms Sharmini Palanisamy LL.B (Hons) London, CLP

Sharmini graduated from University of London with LL.B (Hons) in 1994 and completed her Certificate of Legal Practice (Malaysia) in 1996. Thereafter, she did her pupilage in Messrs Jeyaratnam & Chong under the guidance of her master, Ms. Teh Saw Hoon.
 
Sharmini was called to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 8th August 1998. She started her career in the legal profession practising litigation, conyevancing and banking in Messrs K Ganesh & Associates and Messrs Siti Nor & Partners from 1998 to 2000.
 
In 2000, Sharmini joined Messrs Ghazi & Lim where she was in charge of conveyancing and banking under the guidance of their senior partner, the late Datin Roquaiya Hanim Tun Hussein. At Messrs Ghazi & Lim, she worked with various developers, banks, financial institutions, insurance companies, corporations where she advised and drafted documents for real estate development and loan financing.
 
In 2006, she joined Messrs Syed Alwi, Ng & Co. where she was handling corporate banking. She has worked with various commercial banks and government banks in respect of advising, drafting and preparation of security documentation for project financing in Malaysia and overseas, trade financing and Islamic banking facilities. She also has experience working with foreign lawyers in Indonesia, China, Maldives, Singapore and United Kingdom in respect of cross borders loans.
 
She was a conveyancing partner in Messrs Shahrinaz Cheong & Partners in 2010 until 2011 and Messrs Ariffin Shahzad from 2011 until 2013. She then joined the firm as a Legal Assistant in May 2013.
 
In the course of her practice, Sharmini has acquired the knowledge and expertise in drafting agreements, negotiating terms of security documents and advising on legal solutions in relation to conveyancing and banking matters.
 
 
 
11.       Ms Hema Malar Rathinasamy LL.B (Hons) London, CL

Hema graduated with Bachelor of Law Degree from the University of London in 1995. She completed her pupilage in the Chambers of Lakshmi Ganesh & Co where she received her training under her master Ms Lakshmi in litigation matters particularly in areas of family matters including matrimonial and custody matters, probate and administration and landlord and tenancy matters. She was called to the Malaysian Bar on 24th  September 1999.

She joined  M/s David Lingam & Co as a Junior Legal Assistant in 2000 where she was exposed to variety of conveyancing matters including handing consumer and commercial loans, drafting of Sale and Purchase Agreements for sub-sale and mainly developer’s work and had developer clients such as Sunway Group & MK Land.

In 2004 she joined M/s SN Yap & Associates and was in charge of the Conveyancing Department and continued to be active in conveyancing matters and had developer clients such as Hap Seng Development Sdn Bhd and further was exposed to post auction matters and corporate work.

In May 2010 she joined M/s Manjit Singh Sachdev Mohammad Radzi & Partners as a Senior Legal Assistant where she specialized in sub-sale matters and was in charge of the Sub-sale Department at the firm. 

She joined the Firm as a Legal Assistant in December 2010 and handles conveyancing matters.

 

 
12.       Mr Patrick Yeo Kean Kok LL.B (Hons) East Anglia, CLP

Patrick graduated with a Bachelor of Law degree from University of East Anglia, United Kingdom in 1999. He then did his pupilage in Messrs Adnan, Sundra & Low.
 
Patrick was called to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 25th February 2005.  He continued his practice in Messrs Adnan, Sundra & Low until September 2005, specializing in conveyancing and banking matters.
 
Thereafter, Patrick joined Messrs. Edsoo& Co. as a Legal Assistant and subsequently became a Partner in Messrs. Edsoo & Co. until March 2011.  During his tenure there, Patrick specialized in conveyancing, banking and corporate matters.
 
Before joining the firm as a Legal Assistant in September 2013, Patrick practiced in Messrs Azman Davidson & Co. from March 2011 until September 2013.  Currently, Patrick handles conveyancing and banking matters.
 
In the course of his practice, Patrick has acquired expertise and knowledge in drafting and negotiating terms of agreements relating to real property transactions and other commercial agreements.
 
 
 
13.       Ms R. Anusha Ragvan LL.B (Hons ) Leeds, CLP

Anusha graduated with a Bachelor of Law Degree from University of Leeds in 2010.  In 2011 she completed her Certificate of Legal Practice with Honours which is awarded by the Malaysian Legal Profession Qualifying Board.  Thereafter she read law in the Chambers of Anad & Noraini where she received her training and guidance under Ms Chen Siew Mei in  litigation matters. 
 
She was admitted to the Malaysian Bar on 22nd October 2012 and thereafter was offered a position as a Legal Assistant with the Firm. Her area of practice is civil litigation, which includes debt recovery for insurance companies, banks and various types of execution proceedings including but not limited to bankruptcy proceedings and winding up proceedings and other miscellaneous matters.
 
Anusha is also active in matters pertaining to motor insurance claims and is well exposed in running down cases.
 
 
 
14.       Ms Nirumala Pusudoary LL.B (Hons) London, CLP

Nirumala read law under University of London and graduated with 2nd upper class honors in September 2012. Thereafter in 2013 she completed her Certificate of Legal Practice which is awarded by the Malaysian Legal Profession Qualifying Board. 
 
Thereafter she read in the chamber of Encik Zain Azrin bin Zain Azahari of M/s Zain & Co wherein she was primarily trained to handle matters involving real estate, banking and corporate.
 
Niru was called to  the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 5th December 2014 and shortly thereafter was offered a position as a Legal Assistant in M/s Rajendran & Deen.
 
In M/s Rajendran & Deen, she led her own team in the real estate and banking division.  Her are of practice included but not limited to matters involving developer’s projects, subsale matters, banking securities and various other real matters for both commercial and retail properties.
 
Niru joined the Firm in August 2016 and her area of practice is civil litigation, which includes general litigation, debt recovery for banks and various types of execution proceedings including but not limited to bankruptcy proceedings and winding up proceedings and other miscellaneous matters.
 
 
 
15.       Ms Lisa-Premee Davis LL.B (Hons) London, CLP

Lisa read law under University of London and graduated with honors in September 2012. Thereafter in 2013 she completed her Certificate of Legal Practice which is awarded by the Malaysian Legal Profession Qualifying Board. 
 
She completed her pupilage in Messrs Anad & Noraini in the chambers of Ms. Navamalar a/p Ganesan.  During her period of pupilage, she received her training and guidance in handling litigation matters particularly in banking litigation.
 
Lisa was called to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 15th May 2015 and thereafter was offered a position as a Legal Assistant with the Firm.
 
Her area of practice is civil litigation, which includes debt recovery for insurance companies, banks and various types of execution proceedings including but not limited to bankruptcy proceedings and winding up proceedings and other miscellaneous matters.
